Lui demanda de quelle affection
L'avait trouvé à fin qu'elle en tesmoigne.
La fille dit il est d'affection
Chault en parler mais froidement besongne.

Chaud en parler, mais froidement besogne".
English translation
This lady, fully knowing the best method
To secure a marriage,
Contracts an advantageous marriage of her daughter
With this grey-haired old man,
Whom she wouldn't have wished for.
So afterwards, in a subtle way,
To display her close concern,
She asks the girl what warmth he's shewn,
To which she can bear witness.
The daughter says: "He speaks warmly of tenderness,
But he fumbles coldly".
