Edition notes: This is an abridgement of Bach's Mass in F for liturgical use, as the original is far too long. The Kyrie has been left as it stands. The Gloria has been arranged from the first movement with contrafactum of the text and two large cuts at the beginning. The Sanctus is a contrafactum of the movement Cum Sancto Spiritu. The Benedictus is a contrafactum of the beginning of the movement Domine Deus, with Hosanna from Sanctus. Agnus Dei I is an arrangement of the beginning of the movement Qui tollis, while Agnus Dei II is a contrafactum of the second Kyrie. The continuo is original with editorial additions in a few places to fill in gaps.
